July Pics

Schuyler's pout face.

Schuyler was observing the photographer at her first baby photo shoot. She looks a little leary, but she did great.

A live action shot of a roll-over!

Aunt Brooke came from Tennessee to visit her "near niece" and actually babysat on Friday while Mom went to work. Brooke said, "She's so easy. If she's upset all you have to do is feed her or let her look at herself in the mirror." It's true. She rarely cries and loves looking at herself - Schuyler not Brooke :)

Enjoying an afternoon at the winery with Mom, Dad, and Aunt Brooke.

Such a happy baby!

S is now sitting in her high chair and watching events unfold in the kitchen. No rice cereal, yet though. The pediatrician recommended waiting until six months. She is sleeping just fine so it doesn't bother us to wait.

Four Month Check Up

Schuyler had her four month check up this week. Drumroll...our little near termer is 24 and a half inches long and weighs 14.1 pounds. The doctor said she is doing great. Schuyler even gave the Doc a little rollover move on the exam table - such a show off!

Not much else to report around the Anthony household. The air conditioner is up and running again thanks to a brand new air compressor. We are heading to the beach in a couple of weeks to meet up with The Ryan family for our first actual family vacation. A few days off is sounding really nice. It will also be fun to see The Ryan boys and Schuyler together. Although, Hudson Ryan may have some competition from one of Schuyler's daycare playmates. She and Brady were doing tummy time together last week and holding hands! What I wouldn't have given to see that!

Happy Fourth of July!

We braved the rain and celebrated Schuyler's first Fourth of July a couple of days early by taking her to her first concert. The Hartford Symphony Orchestra played lots of patriotic songs at an outdoor bandshell in a nearby town and the show ended with fireworks. (She seemed to enjoy the music, but slept through the fireworks. The bottom pic is of our pooped out little girl when we got home.)Despite the rain, we had a great time! Todd, the consumate Eagle Scout, kept Schuyler completely dry. I felt like we packed for a weekend trip even though we were only twenty minutes from the house!

Milestone Mania

July has started with a bang! On Saturday, June 29, Schuyler laughed for the first time! Todd and I had just finished dinner, a delicious shrimp boil, and he was talking to her while she sat on my lap. We were so excited! Later that night, he got her to do it again when they were dancing to the music on the soul channel. (The XM radio stations on Direct tv are a parent's best friend! The classic channels soothe her and we sing and dance to the oldies and country.) I'll try to post a video of that soon. The daycare ladies tell me that she is giggling throughout the day. Although she smiles a lot for me, I haven't gotten many laughs. I hope this isn't like that Friends' episode where Rachel's baby would laugh for everyone but her. Eventually Rachel had to sing rap music to get the baby to laugh. I am not above that.

On July 3rd, I got a call at work from Todd. He was so proud. "We have a roller!" he exclaimed. He had laid her down in the crib on her back, but when he came in a couple of minutes later she was on her tummy! I went and told all of my co-workers. Now, that's she's rolling, we can't get her to stop! Hope to get some video of that up soon, too.

I feel like we have a ways to go towards sitting up. She has started to spend some time in the orange Bumbo chair. She looks so funny in it - like a little humpty dumpty!
